Since it's been close to a year since I posted last I thought.....maybe I should put something on here. I've been on hiatus because basically - I was pooped and didn't feel like doing it. I worked this past year at the Mother's Day Out program the kids went to. Working those 11 hours threw me off and I never could figure it all out. I enjoyed my time there with my 2 year olds but between my 10 2 years old, losing my 10 hours to myself and dealing with a 3 year old little girl, I basically could have cared less about blogging. But - now.....I'm back! I'm ready to tackle it again. I'm not sure how often at first but hopefully more often than every 10 months......
We just got back from a 10 day vacation in Florida. We started off in St. Pete Beach (by Tampa). We stayed on the beach and had an absolute wonderful time. We had wonderful weather EVERY day there. The sand was great to play in..... the water was great to cool off in. This year we ALL got in the water. Usually it was Danny who would go out; Connor and I would stick our feet in and Savannah would stay way back. I usually don't like getting in because of, what I thought were, irrational fears of sharks, jellyfish and stingrays. But when (1)the sign says "If you don't do the sting ray shuffle you'll be shuffling to first aid," (2) some guy catches 2 baby sharks while standing down the beach from where we were swimming, and (3) there were some white unidentifiable object floating by us in the water that kind of looked like a jellyfish, I realized my fears were not irrational. But I don't want my kids to have my fears so I got in too. I had to carry Savannah past "the bump" (where the waves hit the sand) but then she was good to go. Until she took a few big waves in the face. She still got in but didn't want to stay in as long. We took their floatie thingies ...so they were able to swim by themselves and they both enjoyed it - especially Connor. He couldn't get enough of being in the water. He wanted to head there before doing anything else. He also couldn't get enough of the pool water.
They made new friends at the pool every day. The first day a guy threw a little football with him. The next day Savannah made a friend with and English woman and would not leave her alone. Thankfully she liked kids. We spent a good hour or hour and a half with her and her boyfriend/husband (not sure what he was). She took Connor and Savannah around the pool and played with them. Her name was Lauren and his name was Kerren. I so wish I had gotten a picture but sadly didn't. She kind of looked like Jasmine, from the Disney movie Alladin and I think that may have been why she was enamored with her. Later she told me Lauren got married and was dressed like a princess.
We also met up with some great friends that live in Clearwater...and eat some super good food at Crabby Bill's restaurant.
You can overlook the unsmiling 3 year old in the picture. I'll give you my response to a lot of things...."She's 3!" After supper we took a walk on the beach and watched the sunset and play in the sand and water.
To be cont'd.....
