Sorry it's been so long since I've been to blog world. Life has just been busy - a good busy - and I just haven't taken the time to do it. I've put quite a few pictures on the web album. Here's a little update....
We've spent many days at the park and a day at the zoo - even with a little rain.
I actually remembered that Home Depot has free workshops for kids the first Saturday of every month. So, we took Connor over there and they made wheelbarrows and got a flower to put in there for Mother's Day. They got aprons they get to keep and a pin that shows which project they did. Every time they do a project they get one and put it on their apron. He thought it was cool and had a lot of fun working with Daddy. Only, now, when we go to Home Depot, he thinks he'll get to build something.
Savannah's a little chatter box. She is learning new words rather quickly. If you get her to try to say something, she gets most of the sounds pretty close but almost always gets the right number of syllables. If she hears someone say sorry, she'll say "sawwy." I'm glad she's learning it early because I have a feeling she'll be saying it a lot to Connor as she gets older. Three of her newest words (thanks to her big brother) are pee, poo, and booga - or booger to most. Connor loves to ask her, "Hey, Savannah, can you say booger?" And she smiles and says, "booga." She is also "fake burping" as I call it. Connor does this (thankfully not as much as he used to). He'll take a drink then make a "burp" sound and say "excuse me." Savannah has learned the first part but not the second part yet. Gotta love your little girl going around saying pee, poo, booga and burping - just what every mother hopes for!
I realized the other day that once you have kids your vocabulary changes. Not the obvious stuff - that you start talking about veggie tales and backyardigans and dora and diego. But I find myself no long saying spaghetti, but sketti, there are no mosquitos or mosquito bites, but skito bites; police are po po - still even after Connor speaks so well he still calls them po po. I guess there will be a few more years of this - until Savannah gets all her words down too.
